During my first session with TAT, I experienced a long-standing, painful memory dissolve into a feeling of peace and acceptance in a matter of minutes. The memory remained, but the tears and painful emotion that usually surfaced the moment I recalled this event, were gone. I knew I had found something really powerful.

[Since doing TAT], what is definitely gone is this constant food struggle I had. The struggle was approximately 80% of my waking hours. If I tried to use willpower and not eat unhealthy foods, I had this huge struggle inside. I felt horrible. If I did eat the unhealthy foods, I would go into a very dark place inside myself. This struggle is completely gone. What's left feels like some food addiction to sugar, but not very strong. When I eat sugar at work, it feels like more of a choice and I don't feel so horrible inside. It's a huge shift. Oh, and I have lost about a pound a week so it's been about 3.5 pounds since the workshop!

When a friend of mine introduced me to TAT, I felt some reluctance to use it because I was familiar with other methodologies and because the mentioning of God made it less scientific to my eyes.
I soon found out that TAT was very focused on the particular traumatic message, while EFT, in my experience, was more "generic" and required longer and RET required someone to act as therapist.

(W)henever I use this amazing technique, I feel that I am in the presence of open arms, welcoming a part of me home.

The most amazing experience I ever had was in working with a wonderful dog who was near to death and also hard of hearing...He had shifted from worried and agitated to happy, peaceful, and playful. The rest of his life, short as it was, he was at peace and ready to go, knowing “his people” would be safe and cared for.

Any time I meet a skeptical colleague who tells me they don't believe in "this energy stuff", I just smile and know they will experience it for themselves someday.

A young woman came to see me hoping I could help her get on with her life.
She felt stuck and depressed since four years ago when her friend died of a drug overdose...She thanked me for giving her her life back. I could not get over how different her face looked.

With TAT, I have begun to re-organize my self-image and gradually let go of this conviction that I cannot surrender to enjoy my life fully, free of fear of some monster inside of me.

The Mexican Association for Crisis Therapy has used TAT with large groups of children (approximately 1,652) after natural disasters in Mexico (floods, 1998-1999), Nicaragua (floods and layndslides, 1999) Colombia (earthquake, 1999) and Venezuela (floods and landslide, 1999)....
TAT is our favorite technique to reduce distress, because it is easy to teach and apply. We call TAT for children "The magician's hat" and we teach it to them like part of a story.

One evening my father came to see me and he told me that he was just watching the National news channel on TV. One news coverage was about an office building in Jakarta, conducting evacuation drills for natural disasters. They showed on TV, how people in the drill rushed out of the building, got to a safe area, and altogether did something. Guess what? They did the TAT pose!

I had three sessions with a 13-year-old girl who exhibited
OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder)....She now reports that she feels much more in control of her behavior and thoughts, and that she feels safer having a tool to provide an intervention when she's "freaking out."

Night after night during the workshop I saw trauma and pain simply dissipate and dissolve.... I now have no doubt
TAT is the most effective treatment to resolve trauma of any nature. It’s not something I think or believe works - I know it works. After 25 years of working with veterans and being trained in various techniques,
I’ve finally found something that truly works, and it makes my work more worthwhile. I now I have an effective process to heal the pains of combat.

For as long as I can remember I have always been bothered by bright sunlight and seldom went outside without wearing sunglasses. Even on overcast days, if the sky was bright I wore sunglasses, and when driving at night I used night driving glasses to cut down the glare....At lunch that day I went out to eat outside with some other members of the workshop, and it was not until I felt uncomfortably hot that I realised I was sitting in full sunlight and not wearing sunglasses! Since that day, I have driven across California, Arizona and Texas in the sun with no need for sunglasses.

I had suspected when I went to see my osteopath and found her looking like a little bird with a broken wing that there were
serious emotional issues behind her skiing accident, so I suggested we do TAT, which she had never heard of but was very willing to try. I certainly wasn't prepared for what happened.

A young man I worked with last week arrived shaking and clinching his jaw and tense all over. He was on his 4th day of going cold turkey from both pot and alcohol after a binge. He has a long history of using both everyday....He said everything seemed to have improved and just turned around for him.
He had had no desire for either pot or alcohol even though he had partied and danced all night on Saturday with friends who were using both.
