Q: What is TAT®?
A: TAT (Tapas Acupressure Technique) has been shown to be an easy way to attain inner
peace, relaxation, more vibrant health and empowerment. It is a combination
of placing your attention on whatever the issue is and touching a few specific
acupuncture points on your face and at the back of your head — that’s
it!
Q: When was TAT® developed?
A: In 1993.
Q: Who developed it?
A: Tapas Fleming, a Licensed Acupuncturist in California.
Q: How many people have used
it?
A: Tens of thousands for hundreds of thousands of problems.
Q: What's TAT® good for?
A: In short, TAT has been shown to be effective for ending stress, especially traumatic
stress; freeing a person of allergic reactions; gaining self-confidence
and a positive outlook on life; and attaining empowerment.
Q: Will I re-live my trauma
and feel pain again with TAT®?
A: It has been our experience that you may very occasionally feel an intensifying of
feeling, but it usually lasts for only 10-15 seconds.
Q: How many times do I have
to do a session on one trauma?
A: It has been our experience that generally one session is all you need. Sometimes related events
will come to mind and then you would do TAT about those, but the original
trauma you worked on clears and the stress is easily gone.
Q: What do I do if I'm afraid
to do this on my own or it feels too big to do myself?
A: Do TAT with a certified TAT Professional who is also a licensed
psychotherapist.
Q: Are there any side effects from doing TAT®?
A: Occasionally you may feel tired after doing TAT. A good night's
sleep will take care of it. Also, remember to drink plenty
of water after doing TAT and limit your time in the pose to 20 minutes
a day. TAT moves a lot of energy and doing these things will help
facilitate the clearing process while maintaining your
vibrancy.
Q: Is it normal to sigh when
something clears?
A: Yes, although this doesn't happen for everyone and that's normal
too.
Q: After a few seconds in the pose, my mind begins to wander. What
does that mean?
A: It means you're done with that step.
Q: Do I have to be a trained
professional to do TAT® on myself?
A: No, anyone can do TAT on themselves.
Q: What if I want to use TAT® to help others?
A: You can either direct them to this website so they can get the free download and use TAT on themselves, or you can become a certified TAT Professional to use it with clients.

Q: What is a certified TAT® Professional?
A: A certified TAT Professional is someone who has completed the requirements for our certification program (click here to read them) and is qualified to use TAT in a professional therapeutic setting. By completing the certification program, the TAT Professional is the only practitioner of TAT that is certified by TATLife®. They have worked one-on-one with a certified TAT Trainer, taken courses, and studied materials. We are confident recommending them. To see a list of certified TAT Professionals, click here.
Q: Is it okay if I work with someone who says she/he does TAT® but isn't certified?
A: Who you work with is your choice, but we recommend only working with a TAT practitioner who is a certified TAT Professional. Someone who is not certified may only have read the free download or watched a DVD and then incorporated TAT into their practice. We have no assurances as to the depth of their understanding of TAT. We have no formal relationship with them, and can offer you no help if you are not satisfied with the level of service you receive. Q: I read somewhere that TAT® is guaranteed to cure my problem. Is this true?

Q: Is a TAT® Practitioner the same thing as a TAT Professional?
A: There is no official designation of TAT Practitioner that is recognized or supported by TATLife. In essence, a TAT Professional is the only recognized TAT practitioner by TATLife.

A: Yes.
Q: Does TAT® work for animals?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I be a Christian and
do TAT®?
A: Yes, ask the Holy Spirit or the Lord to do the healing.
Q: Can I be true to God/Goddess/Great

A: Yes, ask God/Goddess/Great Spirit as you know God/Goddess/Great
Spirit to do the healing.
Q: Can I be an atheist or agnostic and do TAT®?
A: Yes, envision the Energy of Love doing the healing.
Q: Do I have to believe TAT®
will work for it to work?
A: No, you don't. Just do the steps. TAT works for
children and even for animals. They have no belief about TAT.
Q: What should I order?
A: In order to have a solid foundation in the use of TAT, we recommend that anyone new to TAT begin with the TAT Workshop 2000 and the free booklet How to Do TAT . The workshop is available in either a video/DVD format or as an audio download. This is an amazing opportunity to attend a full-length workshop, personally led by Tapas, in the privacy of your own home. The TAT Workshop 2000 is filled with Tapas’ teachings, wisdom, humor, and loving energy. People tell us that even after using TAT for years, they still watch this series periodically and are reminded of specific points they had forgotten.
TAT is elegantly simple; you can easily learn the basic steps and the pose in one sitting. However, TAT has an almost infinite number of applications. You can spend a lifetime exploring its dimensions and the many ways in which it can be used.
The other available tapes and audios explore specific situations and
ways of applying TAT: allergies, babies, trauma, money, etc. Watching
demos and seeing and hearing a lot of different approaches to TAT will
help you heal as an individual and grow as a practitioner. It is always
refreshing and insightful to watch other people solve TAT problems, often
in ways you might not anticipate. After completing the TAT Workshop 2000,
choose whatever topic interests you next. These specialized sessions do
assume participants have a fundamental understanding of TAT.
Q: What do I do if it doesn't seem to be working?
A: Ask yourself this question: "If (this problem --
whatever you're working on) healed, what would it mean for me?" Then
work on the thought that comes to mind. Do just the first two steps
of TAT. For example, if what comes to mind is "If (this problem)
clears up, no one will listen to me anymore," then use that statement
as Step 1. Then for Step 2, just put "It's not true that" in
front of the thought that came up. So in this case, it would be "It’s
not true that if (this problem) clears up no one will listen to me anymore." Then
return to the problem you were originally working on and proceed.
Q: How will I know if TAT®
has worked?
A: When you do TAT to clear up a belief, you may not be able to
sense an immediate change. You may only notice the change when life presents
a situation and you respond differently than before you did TAT.
You are more likely to notice a change when you do TAT to heal a situation
or trauma that is currently causing you stress. In this situation, you may
feel a sense of immediate relaxation, inner peace and empowerment upon completion
of TAT. In some cases, you may feel no change and will have to wait and
how you behave and feel according to the life situations that occur.
Eventually, life will present you with an event, and you will look back
and be amazed that you have responded in a more healthy, empowered way than
before you did TAT.
