A young lady 23 years old came to see me. She had had anxiety, panic attacks and depression since the deaths of her mother and stepfather a year and a half before. We had 3 sessions, and one was for paper signing. During the next 2 sessions, we did TAT for finishing grief work. In the month since the 3rd session, she has had no panic attacks, no depression and no anxiety.
Any time I meet a skeptical colleague who tells me they don't believe in "this energy stuff", I just smile and know they will experience it for themselves someday.
I LOVE TAT, and my client loves it too.

A young woman came to see me hoping I could help her get on with her life. She felt stuck and depressed since four years ago when her friend died of a drug overdose. I offered TAT to her and she agreed to try it. After the first session, which lasted about 35 minutes, she seemed very peaceful and thanked me and made an appointment to see me in four weeks. She is an introvert and did not speak much but did tell me that she could not sleep well, could not get her dead friend out of her mind, and she was miserable. She had no quality to her life and she was very sad.
The first TAT step was: My friend died.
The second step was: It happened, it's over, I'm ok, I can go on with my life now.
At the second appointment, when I first saw her, her face was happy and she looked like a different person. I don't think I would have recognized her in a crowd. She was smiling and told me how her life had changed since our meeting a month before. She could enjoy the things she used to enjoy like watching a ball game on TV. She visited her parents (who live several hundred miles away) and she felt like her old self – perhaps even better. She thanked me for giving her her life back. I could not get over how different her face looked. She seemed so much happier and peaceful. It was incredible.
