The Background

In 2005, scientists from Kaiser Permanente conducted a study comparing TAT to two other methods to help people maintain weight loss. Each group was given 10 hours of instruction. In the three-month period of the study, the group doing TAT gained no weight back whereas the other groups both gained weight. After the program ended and people stopped using TAT, the TAT group gained very little weight, whereas the other groups gained back six times as much.
