Truly Happy Intimate Relationships; Newest TAT Professionals; Hadn’t Heard From Her Son in 10 Years

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

Dear TAT Friends,

Just home from the ACEP (Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology) Conference. It was lots of fun. These are a warm, lively group of people from various professions worldwide who are sharing healing approaches and working toward the mainstream acceptance of these alternative approaches to health. To learn more, check out energypsych.org , the ACEP website. There were lots of interesting speakers and you can get copies of the conference talks on DVD at the website.

Our TAT for Better Sex webinar will be here soon. Someone asked if they can get a discount for their partner to join them in the webinar and we thought that sounded like a great idea. If you’d like to have your partner or spouse join in, just write to Customer Service after you register and let them know you’d like the coupon code for your partner to register, too. Julie or Teri (our friendly Customer Service folks) will be happy to help you with that.

Just picture how nice it would feel to be with someone you love and not have past, unresolved emotions and beliefs showing up. Imagine being with the person you love and feeling close and happy in the moment, with no mind junk from past relationships chattering at you, distracting you from enjoying the precious moment you’re in. That’s the direction of our upcoming webinar series.

Have thoughts like any of these?:

    • Great relationships might happen for other people, but it could never happen for me.
    • I’ve tried and I don’t have the heart to try again.
    • A webinar can’t possibly make any difference for me.
    • I wouldn’t even know where to begin - there’s so much old stuff.
    • I’d be too embarrassed or self-conscious to participate.

Try doing the TAT Pose and putting your attention on all those thoughts - and any others that come up for you - for about a minute. Then do the Pose again for about a minute as you put your attention on:

    • It’s possible that I could have a wonderful intimate relationship and great sex.
    • It’s possible I could have the heart to try again.
    • A webinar could make a difference for me.
    • It would be easy to begin clearing up old stuff.
    • I could participate and only share what I want to.
    • …plus anything else you’d like to include

Just see what happens. I think you’ll be happy with the possibilities that open up. Even if you don’t join us for the webinar, you’ll have a great start toward a happier intimate life.

In this webinar, you’ll learn how you can use TAT to have more joy and fulfillment in intimate relationships and better sex. And remember, you don’t have to share anything personal with anyone in the class for it to work (I love that about TAT!). To join the webinar, just click here .

Just two days ago, one of my best long-time friends told me that I’m in one of only two relationships she knows where the people are really happy together. I’d like to share what I can with you about how to be in a really happy intimate relationship. That’s part of what we’ll be doing in the webinar. Even if you’re not in a close relationship right now, this webinar can easily help clear the way for that kind of relationship to manifest in your life. In fact…I have a new way of pumping up the rich, full feeling of the life you want being present right now. We’ll do that special new "manifestation magic" every time we get together in our webinars. I’d love all my friends to be extremely happy and fulfilled - and because you’re reading this, I consider you one of my friends. To join me in the webinar, just click here .

Here is a story from Kristin Holthuis, one of our newest Professionals:

One of my very first TAT sessions was working with a lady on her anger and grief related to not having seen her son for about ten years. He was taken abroad when he was about 18 years old by a close family member, and she hadn’t heard anything from him ever since. She had felt like a bad mother (what a kind of mother is left by her child, without a word even after for 10 years?) and didn’t want to see the part of her family who had contributed to her son leaving her, and she didn’t want to see them ever again.

During the session a lot of different emotions passed by (anger, resentment, shame, grief), and she was even ready to forgive her family and her son at the end, feeling so much more peaceful; her face was glowing!

And… I was so impressed when I saw her again several weeks later, when she almost jumped on me with a big hug, telling that 3 days after the session her son had called her, wanting to visit her, asking for forgiveness and wanting to catch up with her again.

I cannot imagine that the session we did together wouldn’t have had anything to do with it…

TAT is still my favorite tool when dealing with complex situations where a lot of different emotions and levels are part of the issue!

And thanks to you all for inspiring me by sharing your experiences! Blessings to all of you!

Kristin

Are You a Slave to…?; Men’s & Women’s Issues; ACEP Conference

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Dear Friends,

Something so obvious that I’d never noticed made itself clear: I thought I was a slave! I thought I had to work work work and only have enough to get by - just enough food, a roof over my head and that was about it. Uh, who knew? It should have been obvious from looking at my life, but it just never dawned on me till a couple of days ago.

A few endlessly repeating thoughts and life patterns that went with it were, "Oh, woe is me! No one knows how hard I work. Won’t someone please save me?" Only trouble was, nothing could ever change the situation because I was so rooted in that identity. Everything around me kept validating that identity because I was, after all, completely, uh…identified!

Doing TAT about it was pretty interesting: the identification with being a slave was so ingrained, that the "slave" was almost violently attached to continuing on. "Get away! This is me!" It felt like a dog baring its teeth, snapping at me, protecting its last bone that had been long ago picked clean. Not a pretty sight.

As usual, in about five minutes, it was completely gone. Good old TAT. Love it! I feel so free free free!

I got so excited about it that I wanted to offer you a teleseminar on "Freeing Your Inner Slave ." I couldn’t even wait till I get back from Europe at the end of April, so I’m squeezing it in on April 8th at 1:00 p.m. PDT (20:00 UTC). An hour and a half, $55. Register now to join me.

Life changed instantaneously. Business solutions dropped in my lap and more money than I’ve received in over a year happened - all on the same day that I got free of identifying with being a slave.

So if you feel like a slave to anything - money, debt, possessions, having to have more and more stuff, work, television, whatever - this teleseminar is for you.

I’d like you to feel this happy and free.

I’m very happy to invite you to join Sara Arey , one of our TAT Trainers, for a webinar on Men’s and Women’s Issues . Here’s more information from Sara:

I’m very excited about this workshop. Carrying around so many limitations that we learned from our families, our cultural groups, our society and our own past experiences about what it means to be a man or a woman can have us living a very narrow part of what’s possible for each of us. These limitations and preconceived ideas affect our relationships with our partners, our children, our co-workers, life - and with ourselves. Clearing the slate opens up new worlds of possibilities.

Just this morning as I was thinking about this workshop, I suddenly realized that I had some small little thought somewhere that it isn’t safe to let men into the deepest, most sacred place in me. It felt like I needed to keep some place inside me secret and apart. I was really surprised by that, and by how very real the fear felt. I did TAT on it, and felt a tension I didn’t know I carried release. I felt lighter and happier, and noticed a subtle but important difference in myself in relationship with my husband. This type of experience is typical for this webinar.

We’ll meet at 3:00 EDT (19:00 UTC) on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 3 weeks beginning April 13 and do TAT on the following topics:

  • Session 1 - the limiting beliefs we learned from our groups (family, cultural, where we grew up, etc.) about what is means to be and relate to our gender
  • Session 2 - the limiting beliefs we learned from our groups (family, cultural, where we grew up, etc.) about what is means to be and relate to the other gender
  • Session 3 - events from our past that have negatively influenced our view of men and women
  • Session 4 - our biggest fears in our relationships with men and women
  • Session 5 - what limits our self-expression in relationship to men and women
  • Session 6 - what limits our acceptance of and ability to be present with men and women

We’ll do TAT in a group on each subject and we’ll work on behalf of ourselves and each other. If you haven’t had the experience of using TAT with a group, I highly recommend it. When working in a group, I often hear someone say something that highlights similar thoughts that I hadn’t been aware of in myself, so I add those in, too. Group TAT also makes the whole process feel lighter - I tend not to be so much in my own stuff, and hearing that other people are having the same kinds of thoughts and feelings can be very comforting. Working in a group just seems to make the healing both deeper and broader, and I love the feelings of community and closeness that develop so quickly.

Each session will last approximately 90 minutes. With the webinar format, we’ll be able to see each other (if you have a webcam - you’ll still be able to see me and other participants either way), and there’ll be plenty of time between sessions to let the changes integrate.

I know how very freeing it is to release these beliefs and judgments, and I look forward to sharing this experience and this time with you. You’re welcome to attend the sessions that particularly appeal to you, or join me for the whole series and save $50. Just click here to register.

I invite you to join me at this year’s Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP) Conference June 3-6, 2010 in San Diego California at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort. The conference is entitled Evolving Tools For Healing Mind, Body and Spirit and will host keynote speakers:

  • William Bengston, PhD, researcher in the energy healing of cancer
  • Norman Doige, MD, author of The Brain that Changes Itself
  • Dean Radin, PhD, author of The Conscious Universe and Entangled Minds
  • Donna Eden, author of Energy Medicine and Energy Medicine for Women
  • David Feinstein, PhD, author of Energy Psychology Interactive, The Mythic Path
  • Debbie Ford, author of The Secret of the Shadow and The Spiritual Divorce

I’ll lead both a one-day pre-conference workshop and a session during the conference. The one-day session on June 3 is entitled Using TAT to Heal Your Relationship with Food and Weight. In this workshop, I’ll teach participants how to use TAT for lasting weight loss and a healthy relationship with food. With TAT, negative emotional patterns can change into a radiant life free of the need of excess weight. You’ll have time for your own healing experiences while supporting each other and having fun!

On June 6, I’ll lead a session on Celebrating Your True Self with TAT . I love sharing this. I’ll teach a way to be present to your true self, rest in your spiritual center, and see your clients as whole and complete, even in their current state. This knowledge and way of being can help your clients easily have deep inner transformations that happen with ease and grace.

Tapas

P.S. Join me on April 8th for "Freeing Your Inner Slave ".

A Conversation with My Mom; Seven Keys to Simple Presence

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Dear Friends,

Yesterday, looking alternately out the window (gorgeous view across half a mile of trees and homes to the blue Pacific) and at my computer as I worked, I heard two creaks in the floor behind me. I turned to look. There was nothing there. I suspected it might be my mom walking through the living room. (In case you haven’t read newsletters from earlier this year, my mom died at the end of January. You can read more here .)

Later in the afternoon, I was chatting on the phone and heard those same creaks. "Maybe it was from the attic", I mused to myself…we’d heard some critters up there recently. But then I realized that I wouldn’t be hearing all the way to downstairs from the attic and besides, it was the floorboards I heard. Our family has lived in this house since 1963 and I have never heard squeaking floorboards when someone wasn’t walking on them.

In the evening while tending to some toast in the toaster, I said, "Mom???" The hairs on the back of my neck stood up. Yep, Mom. Hmmm…I’d felt her free and happy after she’d died and looking like a 14-year-old. I wondered what this was about.

Over breakfast this morning, I felt my hairs standing up all over my body while I was in the kitchen (her kitchen!). "Mom, I’m gonna do some TAT on your behalf. Here, you sit here (I pulled her usual chair out from the table) and I’ll sit here (where I used to sit kitty-corner from her, just to her right). As I held the Pose on myself, the conversation went like this:

Me: Do you have a sense of your eternal self? (That word "eternal" just seemed to cause confusion so I thought, "Forget that".) Do you know you’re dead?

Mom (as old lady): Shakes her head "No".

Me: Uh, do you notice that you can see now? (I’m just assuming this. This is significant because she was legally blind before she died and could hardly see anything. I’m thinking that maybe pointing out a difference between what was and what is now would give her a chance to notice that things have changed.)

Mom: Yes .

Me: (Beginning to form a thought like, "Have there been lapses in time where you find yourself somewhere and don’t know how you got there?" Then I realize that this wouldn’t help much because her mental state was like that before she died anyway. So I dropped that approach.) I’m planning on selling the house and it wouldn’t be good if you stuck around. People would think you’re a ghost. Because you are.

Mom: (laughs)

Me: What are you doing here?

Mom: I’m afraid. I’m afraid to leave you. (She was out of her chair and hanging onto me at this point. I had looked after her closely for many years before she died and, in general, she looked to me for protection.)

Me: (I’m wondering to myself if I’m just making all this up because I’m afraid to let go of her. I don’t know what’s really going on here.) I’m gonna ask for help. Angels and good helper beings, will you please help my mom out here? Mom, would you please ask for help, even if you don’t know who the helpers are in advance? That’s what I’m doing. And let’s make the intention that we’ll always be connected in our hearts and we’ll always be in touch. (I saw the love glowing in both our hearts.) Something didn’t feel like it was clicking, so I asked Amma, who’s known as the Hugging Saint, to please help us out. I love Amma. (Immediately, I saw Amma sort of like floating above the table in our kitchen right in front of my mom.) Mom, remember how you said you wished you could have seen Amma and looked into her eyes? Well, you can now. (I saw my mom and Amma look into each others’ eyes. I saw my mom feel safe and loved as they embraced. I burst into tears. Then the three of us hugged. The whole experience felt like a very real dream that dissolved into love and happiness. All the concerns about my mom were gone.)

I got up from the table and pulled out two tissues from the Kleenex box for myself and said out loud, Mom, this is one time you won’t be needing your two tissues! (She always wanted two tissues at a time.) I wiped my eyes, blew my nose and ate my then over-cooked breakfast.

When I think of my mom right now, I have a sense of infinite creative potential, and that’s all. When I think, "Mom?" with a wish to be in touch, I feel my heart glow with love.

In order to get continuing education units (CEUs) for the Kauai workshop for therapists and acupuncturists, we’ve renamed the workshop and rewritten the description. Using TAT along with inner meditative questions like "Who am I? " and "What is the purpose of my life? " will be central to our work along with Seven Keys to Simple Presence (see our store for a complete description of what we’ll be doing together).

We can’t really be present if we don’t know who we are. We’ve now simply highlighted the professional benefits from doing this workshop in our store description so that the licensing bodies can make sense of what we’re offering their professionals. I wanted to let you know about this description change before you read about it on the calendar or in the store and felt any concern about it. The focus of this get-together is on you having your own deep, spiritual experience.

Out of your own experience, some of the natural outcomes often include:

  • You feel more like you than you ever have and communicate your authentic self easily.
  • You don’t feel afraid of death because you are constantly aware that you are eternal and untouched by anything that happens in life.
  • You don’t identify yourself or anyone else with problems or shortcomings.
  • You’re mostly non-judgmental.
  • You feel that the world is friendly to you.
  • You feel happy and more and more alive and connected.

My experiences with this kind of work are my own sort of "gold standard". Knowing who I am, the purpose of life and what my own true nature really is, I can know what’s of real value to me in my life, how I want to be and what is deeply fulfilling. Happiness is almost always filling my days, and intimate, heart-to-heart connections are a constant in my life.

I’d like you to be extremely happy and fulfilled and I don’t know anything that compares to this type of retreat for establishing you in that consciousness in your day-to-day life. Besides…we’ll be in Kauai!

Would you love to share the most absolutely essential work we can do in one of the most gorgeous places on earth? We have a 25% discount good through March 29th. Register now for this savings.

My best wishes to you.

Love,
Tapas
