Healing Sexual Abuse - Welcome New Pros - Estonian

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Dear Friends,

I’m at the Boston workshops now. I always love meeting new friends, reconnecting with friends from past workshops, and clearing away so much old stuff that limits our enjoyment of life. It’s thrilling and soul-satisfying to be part of this process.

Here’s a story from Clare in Canada about doing TAT for a sexual abuse trauma.

I am 39 years old. Three years ago, I remembered I had been regularly sexually abused by my father from ages 2 to 5. My mother used to send me to be with my father to get abused as it would lessen his general hostility.

When all these memories came to the surface, I was a filled with grief, anger, and devastation. I suddenly understood my resentment to my mother, my fear of my father and the floundering state of my life. I took 5 months off work. My self-esteem plummeted. I was a wreck.

For the past 3 years, I have floundered, slowly getting neutral, but never quite there. My relationships with my family have been distant and empty. I have been living but very disengaged, dissatisfied, and unhappy, yet unclear how to help myself.

I have done TAT twice in the past 10 days. I (now) have no charge about having been sexually abused. I have forgiven my father - which is HUGE. I don’t want to reconnect with him, but I harbor no ill feelings towards him at all. I have forgiven my mother which is also HUGE - we talked today and had a kind and gentle conversation with connection. I can’t remember ever having that with her. I was more open with her than I have ever been. I see her for her - not for what she didn’t give me - this is HUGE. I can go on with the other people I have forgiven, but the essence is, I feel gentle, light, and good.

I talked with a long time friend and in sharing with her, we could both tell how genuinely free I am. THANK YOU so much. I am grateful to Tapas Fleming for bringing this into reality and offering it to people. My heartfelt thank you, Tapas Fleming. May the love, light and freedom your technique is giving people surround you and uplift you.

Thank you so much, Clare, for sharing your story with us.

In Healing Rape and Sexual Abuse (available as a DVD or MP4 download), I teach you how to find great relief from sexual traumas and abuse. One of the truly amazing gifts of TAT is the ability to remove the emotional charge around events without ever having to re-live the original incidents.

If you’d like the big picture of how to use TAT for a wide variety of issues and situations – including clearing negative beliefs, destructive mental chatter, the effects of trauma, and allergic reactions, plus working with children and animals – get our TAT Basics−Portland andWorkshop 2000 recordings.

Buy the TAT Basics−Portland or the Workshop 2000 DVD - and get $5 off the Healing Rape and Sexual Abuse DVD.

Please join me in warmly congratulating the following people who have recently completed our program and become certified TAT Professionals. You can read about them by clicking on their names which link to their profiles.

Workshops in Sweden, Annual Symposium, Healing Depression

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

Dear Friends,

We have some wonderful workshops scheduled that I am excited to tell you about.

Stockholm, Sweden
I am looking forward to another trip to beautiful Stockholm, Sweden in September.

TAT for Traumas
September 21-22, Friday - Saturday

Join us at the Hotel Foresta for a 2-day workshop and learn how to use TAT to heal traumas, including multiple traumas, with plenty of time for you to address some of your own issues. We will also discuss the protocols for helping people heal from the trauma of a disaster. We will cover the Steps of TAT and how to be a good TAT practitioner, so no prior TAT experience is necessary in order to attend this workshop.

This workshop plus the Basic Approaches to Healing with TAT workshop will count as one Basics workshop for anyone who wants to be certified as a TAT Professional.

Here is an invitation in Swedish from our host, Florrie.

Basic Approaches to Healing with TAT
September 23, Sunday
This is a 1-day workshop where you will learn how to use TAT in a variety of situations, including for allergies, negative beliefs, and weight loss, and how to work with children.

Click here for an invitation in Swedish from our host, Florrie.

Annual Symposium
The TAT Annual Symposium will be held in Redondo Beach, California, just outside of Los Angeles.

Symposium - Basics Workshop
October 16 - 17, Tuesday all day through Wednesday morning

Not only will you learn the fundamentals of how to use TAT, you’ll get lots of hands-on experience and the opportunity to work on your own healing. I’ll be taking volunteers for demonstrations, plus we’ll work in pairs and as a group. You also have the option of working on something for yourself along with the demonstrations. This workshop will fulfill the requirement for a Basics workshop for those who want certification.

If you are new to TAT, this is the place to really learn what it’s all about and how to use it. If you are looking for a refresher course, come join us and enjoy the fun and profound beauty of healing with TAT.

Symposium - Practicing Presence
October 17-19, 2:00 Wednesday through noon Friday

At the Practicing Presence Workshop, you’ll develop your own skills in one of the most important parts of practicing TAT – being present! We’ll talk about what being present really means and what stands in the way of being present; we’ll do TAT as a group, in pairs, and individually to clear many common blocks to being present. Not only will your professional practice benefit from taking this course, but it will also help open the way to being more present in all aspects of your life, especially in enhancing your relationships.

The Practicing Presence workshop will help you:

  • Gain listening and communication skills
  • Increase personal presence
  • Enhance love and compassion

Symposium - Time with Tapas
October 19, Friday 2:00 – 5:00

This is a dedicated time for Certified Professionals (until 3:30) and Certified Trainers (until 5:00) to bring their questions, ideas, and suggestions to share with everyone attending, including Sara Arey (our Education Coordinator) and me. We’ll begin taking questions before the Symposium so that we’ll have an initial list of topics for our get-together. Of course, we won’t be limited to that list and our discussions will flow naturally. I’m really looking forward to spending this time with the certified Professionals and Trainers.

Symposium - Trainers Course
October 20 – 21, Saturday - Sunday

This workshop is open only to those who are certified as TAT Professionals by the start of the course, and who have taken the Practicing Presence workshop (attending the Practicing Presence at the Symposium is fine). Because I want time to get to know each of you, we will have a maximum of 20 participants.

In this course, I’ll tell you what’s important to cover in a workshop, go over some “what-do-you-do-when-this-happens” scenarios, and together we’ll practice how to explain TAT and the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions. This is also a great chance to get to know others who are leading TAT workshops – we have a wonderful, inspiring and supportive community of Trainers. We’ll have the Kauai details for you soon. Several people have contacted us about workshops they’d like us to consider adding to this event. If you have something you’d love to do in this setting, please let Sara know in the next week.

Here is a story from Lisa Saubolle, a TAT Trainer and Professional.

This email touched my heart and I just wanted to share it with you. The woman who wrote this contacted me saying she was lost and stuck. She is on Paxil for depression, which no longer seems to help much, and was feeling quite unhappy. I invited her to come to a TAT Healing Circle, where we all use TAT together, on our individual concerns. As a general statement we used the following:

Step One: Everything that led up to this (pattern or condition) happened.
Step Two: Everything that led up to this happened, its over, I’m ok, I can relax and it’s no longer resulting in (pattern or condition).

Each person personalized the statement for her situation. I wrote to this participant a couple of days later to see how she was doing and this was her reply (in part).

“Hello Lisa, and thank you for writing to follow up. First, let me tell you how I’ve been planning to write to you and let you know what I feel and see after the TAT healing circle. But, I have been waiting, not wanting to bother you with my trivialities and at the same time, I seem to be somewhat pleasantly absorbed in observing myself since that evening. It’s like a pleasant awakening has been set into motion deep within me and I find that my mood is consistently upbeat - as I like it to be….and I’m feeling far less depressed right now. I was going to just note a few things and let you know before the next healing circle, however, I’m glad to have this chance to give you feedback and thanks for what I’m experiencing right now….I very much appreciate meeting you and finding this opportunity to rise up again … from my own ashes!!”

During the healing circle, after we finished our TAT process, she expressed that it had given her hope and I could see it in her face. She has already signed up for a TAT class. I continue to be amazed at the gentle power of TAT to restore us to a place of peace, and as always, I am so grateful. With thanks and blessings,

Lisa

I hope you are enjoying your summer (or winter) days.

Love,
Tapas

Boston Workshops; Answering Your Questions

Friday, June 8th, 2007

Dear Friends,

I hope this finds you well and in good spirits.

We have a get-together for Boston starting with a workshop on Lasting Weight Loss on July 13. Find out how to maintain weight loss and reduce stress. Specific TAT Steps just for losing weight and keeping it off will be fully explained and you’ll be practicing TAT during the workshop.

Then we’ll have a Practicing Presence workshop on July 14-15. One of the most important things a TAT practitioner does is to be fully present with their client. The Practicing Presence workshop will help you:

  • Gain listening and communication skills
  • Increase personal presence
  • Enhance love and compassion

When you do this, you become more present in all aspects of your life, including with yourself. This is a great workshop for anyone who wants to lead a fuller, more joyful, more present life.

The Boston workshops will be held at a beautiful retreat center, Westwoods, just outside Boston and convenient to the airport and interstates. The deadline for the discounted rates on the workshops is June 20. Please make your hotel reservations by June 20 in order to get our group rate. Hotel information can be found in the workshop descriptions in the online store. We have also set up a place in the TATLife forum for those who want to see about sharing hotel rooms and rides from the airport.

For those of you on the West Coast, we will be having the same two workshops in Santa Cruz at the end of July. The Lasting Weight Loss workshop will be July 27 and the Practicing Presence workshop will be July 28-29.

Several people have written to me recently with questions. Many of you may have the same or similar questions, so here are my replies.

Question:
What would be best for someone, like myself, who is constantly getting panic attacks, or there’s something going on in their life, which they are unable to stop happening at the moment? I would love to be able to say (these panic attacks) happened, it’s over (as you recommend for Step 2 – The Opposite of the Problem)…but my rational mind knows full well that it isn’t, and each time I have a bad panic attack I feel re-traumatized.

Answer:
Yes, I know what you mean about your rational mind knowing it isn’t over while you’re in the middle of a panic attack. At those times, do the TAT pose with the thought:

“This is happening and I’m OK.” “OK” means that although you are experiencing this panic attack, you are, at the same time, not truly affected. When you are in the TAT pose, you naturally come into a witness state – a distinction between you and your experience happens and there is an ease in allowing your experience to be what it is in that moment.

During a time when you’re not having a panic attack, do TAT like this:

Step 1 (the problem): Everything that led up to the panic attacks happened.
Step 2 (the opposite condition): That happened, it’s over, I’m okay and it’s no longer resulting in panic attacks.

Then do the rest of the Steps as usual (please see our free download on how to do TAT).

Question:
Does TAT interfere with homeopathy?

Answer:
TAT and homeopathy both work with subtle energy patterns to promote better health. It is very likely that your TAT work will improve your health and your homeopathic practitioner will then prescribe a different homeopathic remedy for you.

Let your homeopathic practitioner know that you are doing TAT and that you will probably need an updated prescription sooner than other patients.

If you’d like to enhance the homeopathic treatment, do the TAT pose while you have your homeopathic remedy close by. You can hold the remedy in your mouth or hold a container with the remedy in your hand or just have it near your as you hold the TAT pose. The intent to keep as you do this is “Yes” to this remedy or simply the feeling of allowing toward this remedy.

Question:
Can you say, “All the origins of this are healing now” AND “God (or whatever name you use for God), thank you for healing all the origins of this” instead of just one or the other?

Answer:
Yes – in fact, that’s a very good approach.

Question:
Is it better to give clients more information about TAT (origins, why it works, etc.), or just say “Do you want to try a technique I’ve learned that might help?”

Answer:
Do whatever works best for that particular client.

My experience is that most people just want to feel better and don’t really care about why it works, etc. But, if you have a client that wants to know more, tell them.

Question:
My son is depressed and angry and really needs TAT, but doesn’t want to have anything to do with it. What can I do?

Answer:
I understand that you love your son and really want to help, but we can’t give healing to someone who doesn’t want it. As hard as it is, let your son make his own choices.

What you can do is do TAT for yourself and on behalf of your whole family with the intent that it’s for whomever wants to receive this healing now. You could do something like:

Step 1: Everything that contributed to anger and depression in our family happened.
Step 2: Everything that contributed to anger and depression in our family happened, it’s over, we’re OK and it’s no longer resulting in anger or depression.
Then do the rest of the Steps as usual. Here are some other approaches.

Step 1: I can’t accept that my child won’t use TAT.
Step 2: I can accept that my child won’t use TAT.
Then do the rest of the Steps as usual.

Step 1: I am scared for my child and have to do something to help.
Step 2: I can relax and allow my child to make the decisions he/she feels are best without trying to help.
Then do the rest of the Steps as usual.

You can also use the 3 Step Method:
Step 1: Everything that led up to my resonating and identifying with my child’s anger and depression happened (or my impatience and need to help or whatever it is for you).
Step 2: Everything that led up to my resonating and identifying with my child’s anger and depression (or impatience and need to help or whatever it is for you) happened, it’s over, I’m okay and I no longer resonate or identify with that.
Step 3: I now resonate with Divine Love in my relationship with my child.

These are just suggestions. Use the approaches that work best for you.

Sometimes people find that once they work on their side of a problem, the dynamics of the relationship change and the other person’s behavior changes as well.

If your child is doing something that is truly harmful to herself or others, you may need the help of a licensed therapist or other health care provider. There are TAT Professionals who are also licensed clinicians. Please get the help you and your child need.

Question:
I watched one of the DVDs, and the steps were different from the chart in the free download. Which ones are right? Which ones should I use?

Answer:
When I first developed TAT, there was one step: Put your attention on the allergen while you sit in the pose. That was it … and it worked

The other steps that are listed in the download were gradually added in over the years based on my own personal experience, my experience with my clients, and feedback I got from people who were using TAT. The DVDs and CDs were made at different stages in this process of growth and change, so some of them have four steps, some have seven steps, and some have nine steps.

So how do you know which steps to use? At this time, the nine steps outlined in our free download seem to cover the bases the best. However, the steps you use are up to you – use the ones you feel are needed to completely clear up the problem you’re working on. Don’t worry about it if a step “wasn’t really needed” – it will become apparent to you that you don’t need to spend much time there because you’ll naturally feel that there’s nothing there to clear.

I have had people tell me that they were very uncomfortable either with that flexibility or with the fact that the steps change over time. If you are feeling that way, I recommend doing TAT on something like:

Step 1: I don’t like the flexibility of choosing which steps to do. I want it to stay the same every time. Or
I don’t like having this change like this. I want you to just pick one and stick with it.

Step 2: I’m ok with choosing which steps to do. I will either have a sense of which ones to do, or I will just do them all. Or
I’m ok with change.

You can then do the rest of the steps if you feel like it would be helpful.

If you have questions you’d like me to answer, please send them to Sara. Please keep in mind that it may take a few weeks before we get to yours. We hope you find these questions and answers helpful in your healing work.

For immediate help, contact one of our TAT Professionals. Many of the Professionals work over the phone with clients, so it isn’t necessary to find somebody near you. Look over the list of TAT Professionals and feel free to interview some of them so you can find out who’s a good match for you.

The Workshop 2000 recording – available as DVDs, CDs, and an MP3 download covers all the basics of TAT and is like taking a workshop in your own home. It is a wonderful resource for answering questions and is required for everyone who wants to be certified as a TAT Professional.

Please sign up for the Lasting Weight Loss and Practicing Presence workshops now – you’ll find many doorways to inner happiness and more radiant health.

Love and wishes for your every happiness,
Tapas
